Happy Earth Day....

Just some interesting internet industry news, Earthlink, who supports nearly 3 million customers is having a massive outage today. The outage has caused their own website and phone lines to crash, as well as the websites and emails of their customers. Read more here!

And rumor has it that Tom may no longer be counted among my MySpace friends! MySpace founder Tom Anderson may be given the boot by MySpace's executive team. I can't say that I will miss his goofy ass grin and his irritating updates - granted, I've been anti-MySpace for as long as I can remember. While I do not wish him ill, there's no love lost....

Onto my Earth Day events - switching over to paperless billing for as many bills as I can and recycling a bunch of stuff I've collected from around my place....

I've gone digital....

I had to get digital cable, long story I'm not going to go into. But let me say this. I am so glad I got it. Now, for these nights I'm completely exhausted I can enjoy such quality programming as Ghetto Booty Rump Shakers, 284 sports channels and Gidget Goes Hawaiian.

I am going to bed...

Not enough of a geek already?

Since most geeks (and some of us wannabes) ditched the pocket protectors long ago (my /* No Comment */ t-shirt doesn't have a pocket), there has been a void in the world of announcing one's geeky status, until now! As if being permanently plugged into your ladtrap isn't enough, you can now deck it out with That Laptop Is Mine! from The Container Store!

:-(

Ok, so the reaction to the tetanus shot continues and I really wish I could take the day off of work. After a very rough night, my fever is down to just over 100 but I've developed a bloody nose - its disgusting and I'm waiting for it to subside before I leave for the office....

I'm still dizzy, achy, tired and such and I would kill to stay in bed today....

Sigh...

I could kill my doctor. LOL.

Tetanus shot gone awry...

I feel like hell. I had a tetanus shot yesterday on the recommendation of my Dr. and now here I am, fever of over 102, chills, aches, dizziness, etc. And I can't take any time off of work...

This blows.

What a day....

1) Yelled at by boss

2) Doctor's visit (not the greatest)

3) Parking ticket

BUT then I have wonderful people in my life like C-los.

Thank you so much for the care package. You have no idea how much I needed that today!

(I will post pics of the insanity that arrived in my mailbox).....

C-LOS ROCKS!!!!!

Another year passes...

Its been another year on this planet. And I suppose I should feel something, yet I don't. Everyone has been terribly kind to me and I am appreciative but the marker of another year doesn't seem to hold much importance to me any longer....Don't get me wrong, I am thankful - to be here and for all that I have. I've just not been given to reflection lately.

That all said, I have to say thanks to the thoughtful and kind gifts I've received. Sarah and Cindy indulged and encouraged my insanity while my family just spoiled me a bit....And I treated myself! lol.

Shredding...

So I was doing some mad Enron-style shredding this afternoon, all on the up and up, mind you (protecting clients billing data) and while doing so I really looked at my little shredder and its usage warnings. First, it can only handle up to 18 pages at a time and it can shred credit cards - great! And it lets me know that paperclips and staples are fine too. However, it seems to think that there should be no shredding of hands (ala Fargo) or solid ties. Which, ok, that's fine too I suppose - I prefer men in patterned ties anyway.

My problem is this - it claims, according to those little icons, that it can destroy CDs. And it can. What it does NOT tell you is the manner in which it does so - that when you shred a CD you should don protective eye wear and be prepared to be covered in little glimmery (and painful) splinters of CD guts....I stuck a CD in there and the next thing I knew, it was shooting out bits of CD all over the place at high velocity!

Quite the irritating and dangerous experience, to say the least. If I were a litigious person, I might be inclined to take some action to recoup my spilled blood - albeit just a few drops. Instead, I'm going to go pick CD out of my hair and shake my sweater! Sigh....
